The winners of the online competition Ötzit! received the main prize, a tablet, from the Director of the Teßmann Library.
At the Teßmann Library, on December, 16th 2022 the main prizes of the online competition "Ötzit!" were presented to the six winners. Felizitas, Simon, Lucas, Katerina, Maurice and Arianna were delighted to receive an iPad, which was given to them by the Director of the Library, Johannes Andresen. At the award ceremony, the Tablets were given to those players who had scored the most points in the online game
Ötzit! in the individual weeks of the competition.
The competition for kids and teens between the ages of 11 and 14 was held by the Teßmann library between September and October 2022. In addition to the tablets, the prizes included tickets for the Cineplexx and a visit to the terraXcube, the extreme climate simulator from Eurac Research.



Ötzit! is a game developed as part of the "Zeit.shift" project (
https://all4ling.eurac.edu/de/projekte/zeitshift/) in which around 500,000 pages of historical daily and weekly newspapers from the entire Tyrolean region were digitised and will be made freely accessible in a web portal from May 2023. The development of games, citizen science activities as well as e-learning courses aim at promoting the population’s awareness for the importance of historical text heritage and at facilitating access to digitised historical collections.
