Themed exhibition in Reading room - February 2023
After the catastrophe of the Second World War, German-language poets sought a new beginning. After the relatively short phase of Trümmerlyrik (“rubble poetry”), new poetic directions emerge, such as "concrete poetry". In the 1960s, poetry is marked by tendencies towards politicisation, according to which writing is understood as a social process. The poets' concentration on their own experience leads to the "New Subjectivity". Since the 90s, poetic creation has been characterised by a great diversity of styles, new poetic forms and formats in the literary world.
A selection of German-language poetry from 1945 to the present will be on display in the Reading room of the Teßmann Library from 2nd to 28th February 2023.
The books can be requested online or borrowed on site.
