International Day against Violence and Bullying at School, including Cyberbullying: 11/6/2025

01.11.2025 - 30.11.2025

Themed exhibition in the Reading room - November 2025

Democracy needs respect, diversity and tolerance. If social media become a stage for manipulation, vigilance is required. Politics, education and society must design digital spaces safely and democratically.
The day of action, launched by UNESCO, takes place annually on the first Thursday in November. Since 2020, he has been reminding people that violence – including cyberbullying – violates the right to education and well-being. According to UNICEF, one in three young people in 30 countries is affected by online bullying, and half of 13- to 15-year olds experience violence at the hands of their peers.
The aim is to motivate all those involved – from parents to the technology industry – to take joint action against bullying.
November 6th 2025 is a reminder: Democracy begins with respect – online and offline.

Until the end of November 2025, a selection of books on this topic will be on display in the Teßmann library's Reading room. The books can be requested online and borrowed on site.
