Fit for your final coursework

In collaboration with schools, the Dr. Friedrich Teßmann Library organises courses for upper secondary school students who want to write their final coursework.

Together with our information-specialists, in our Library, the students search for literature for their final coursework. To do so, they have at their disposal books, newspapers and periodicals, electronic library catalogues and databases. In this way, they become acquainted with the research opportunities of the Dr. Friedrich Teßmann Library and make use of different search strategies. Thanks to chosen sample exercises, they put into practice what they have learnt.

In supervised small groups they work at our IT-workstations and do their own active research for their coursework topics.

Choose modules freely

The Dr. Friedrich Teßmann Library offers modules that can be combined freely, according to the requirements requested by the school. The offered modules cover the following focal topics:
  • Research opportunities and strategies
  • Evaluation of resources (printed and on the internet)
  • Research for your own final coursework together with our librarians
Each module lasts 90 minutes.

Prerequisite for the participation in these modules is the attendance of a general guided tour, which can be taken during the first three school years in upper secondary school.

Appointments and registration

The training courses can be carried out both in the mornings and also in the afternoons.
Appointments and registrations are to be arranged by the teachers.
